Madonna cover tune would make Sheryl Crow happy
CARACAS, Jan 18 (Reuters) - Rock singer-songwriter
Sheryl Crow said Thursday she would like pop diva Madonna (news - web
sites) to cover her hits ``because I would make a ton of money.''
In a tribute to pop's ``Material Girl'',
Crow told a news conference that if she could choose any artist to record
one of her songs it would be Madonna.
The folky singer, who kicks off the Caracas
Pop Festival in the Venezuelan capital on Thursday, said she was not tempted
to follow Madonna's example and make her own ``techno'' dance hits.
``I think the music that does not hold
up so well is the music which is based on technology,'' said Crow, who
turns 39 next month.
She added that her next album should hit
the shelves in September or October and would build on her shift to the
rock mood of her latest offering ``The Globe Sessions.''
